As Varun Dhawan faces intense online backlash for his performance in the upcoming song 'Ghar Kab Aaoge' from Border 2, veteran actor Suniel Shetty has come out in his defense. Shetty, who was part of the original Border, believes that Varun will 'kill it' in the film and urged people to be more thoughtful before criticizing him. 'We've only seen glimpses of the film, not the entire picture,' Shetty said in an interview with Bombay Times. 'Varun Dhawan is playing a decorated officer who has given his life for the country, not himself.' Shetty's comments come amid widespread criticism of Varun's facial expressions and accusations of 'overacting' on social media. Varun had responded to the trolls during an AMA session on X, saying, 'This question made the song a hit. Everyone is enjoying it. God is great.' Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border and stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Panday. The film is set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan war of 1971 and is scheduled to release on January 23.
