The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) commenced in Panaji, Goa, with a spectacular parade, marking a departure from traditional inaugural ceremonies. The festival, running until November 28, featured a vibrant procession from the old GMC building, led by 'Bharat Ek Soor', a centrepiece showcasing folk artists performing traditional dances from across the country. He expressed his vision to establish Goa as the creative capital of India, strengthen the film infrastructure, support local filmmakers, and make Goa an international filmmaking destination. The parade was followed by 12 tableaux from 12 different states, with Goa leading the way, setting the tone for a celebration of cinema from around the world. Iconic film posters, including 'Sholay' and 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', were displayed on an open mini truck, accompanied by posters from upcoming films like 'Peddi' and 'Akhanda 2'. Beloved characters like Chhota Bheem and Motu Patlu also made an appearance.
