YouTuber Arrested for Pirating Zubeen Garg's Blockbuster Film Roi Roi Binale Amid Probe

The Assam Police have arrested a YouTuber, Rafiqul Islam, for allegedly pirating Zubeen Garg's record-breaking film, Roi Roi Binale. Released on October 31, the movie has become the highest-grossing Assamese film, earning ₹16 crore within 12 days. Islam, who ran a YouTube channel called Rafiqul R Vlogs, was taken into custody in Lakhipur, Goalpara district, for uploading video clips of the film without permission. The complaint was filed by the film's producer, Shyamantak Gautam. This arrest comes amidst an ongoing investigation into the death of Zubeen Garg, the celebrated Assamese singer who passed away on September 19. The singer's untimely demise sparked widespread mourning, and the Assam Police and CID have launched a full-scale probe into the circumstances surrounding his death. The film's piracy case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Copyright Act, 1957, and the Cinematograph Act, 1952. Islam has been remanded to three days of police custody for further investigation.
