An 18-year-old has been charged with murder after an Indiana woman died from injuries she suffered when he allegedly shot her during a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
According to police, Jean Gragg, 40, died while trying to save her son during the incident on Wednesday, June 10, in the 2600 block of Mac Arthur Avenue on South Bend's east side.
The son was trying to sell a watch to John Harrison Ford as part of a transaction he arranged through Facebook Marketplace when the shooting happened.
Gragg reportedly got in between her son and Ford, and eventually chased Ford away from the property.
However, surveillance video shows Ford shooting toward Gragg several times after she turned around and ran back toward the home.
Police said Gragg was shot in the head and later died from her injuries on Saturday, June 13.
Ford reportedly admitted to shooting Gragg during an interview with detectives.
He is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
