North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has unveiled a new nuclear materials production facility, state media reported, as he pushes to expand the country’s nuclear arsenal. The facility is believed to be located within the Yongbyon complex, where analysts say it may be a new factory.
Kim inspected the facility, which appears to be a uranium enrichment facility, and said North Korea's 'weapons-grade nuclear materials production capacity more than doubled' in the past five years.
The disclosure comes amid speculation that Chinese President Xi Jinping may visit Pyongyang, and as the US shifts military assets to the Middle East due to rising tensions.
