Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to former US President Donald Trump for his role in securing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May 2025.
Sharif hailed Trump as a 'man of peace' and claimed that his timely intervention led to the ceasefire on May 10, 2025.
However, India has denied any third-party mediation in the matter, stating that an understanding was reached directly between the two countries.
The ceasefire was brokered after India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Trump has previously claimed to have ended eight wars, including the India-Pakistan conflict, but his assertions have been met with skepticism by New Delhi.
