US President Donald Trump has lashed out at critics of his agreement with Iran, calling them 'fools' and 'jealous, bad, or stupid people.' The deal aims to end the Middle East war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but critics argue it gives Iran 'huge financial benefits' without requiring the dismantlement of its nuclear program.

Trump signed the agreement with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at a candlelit dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles. The deal commits Washington to immediately waive oil sanctions crippling Iran's economy and facilitates the release of a $300 billion reconstruction fund once a final agreement is reached on Iran's nuclear program.

However, some critics, including US Senator Bill Cassidy, have described the agreement as the 'worst foreign policy blunder in decades.' The deal has also been met with criticism from hardliners within Iran, where the conflict was described as an 'imposed war.'

Oil prices tumbled after the deal was signed, with crude falling more than three percent. The two-month negotiating period now begins, with all eyes on the reopening of Hormuz and progress in talks over Iran's nuclear program.
