Arunachal Pradesh Governor Urges Police to Uphold Discipline, Compassion, and Excellence

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh - In a stirring address to the Arunachal Pradesh Police on their 53rd Raising Day, Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and compassion in policing. Speaking at the Police Training Centre, Banderdewa, the governor praised the force for consistently demonstrating courage and commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state. Parnaik highlighted the significance of a professional, disciplined, and humane police force in building public trust and strengthening democracy. He stressed that discipline is the foundation of policing, ensuring honesty, humility, and a strong commitment to duty. The governor also underscored the need for police personnel to stay updated with the legal framework, familiarizing themselves with recent laws aimed at making the criminal justice system more humane and responsive. Noting the importance of physical fitness and moral integrity, Parnaik encouraged police officers to cultivate strong character and a clear conscience. He also emphasized the need for regular training and orientation, as well as smart policing and technology-driven operations. In his address, the governor also highlighted the need for strong welfare measures for police personnel and their families, stating that an officer can serve wholeheartedly only when assured of their family's well-being. The event featured various demonstrations, including unarmed combat and dog squad performances, cultural presentations, and a mass PT by trainees of the Police Training Centre. The governor also inaugurated an exhibition on the implementation of new criminal laws, a new classroom building, and flagged off mobile forensic vans, interceptor vehicles, and recovery cranes. The Arunachal Pradesh women contingent won the best marching contingent trophy, and the governor presented the DGP's commendation disc to meritorious officers and personnel. The event was attended by State Home Minister Mama Natung, Director General of Police Anand Mohan, and Inspector General of Police Chuku Apa.
