Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has directed teams of technical experts from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and IIT Kanpur, along with public sector undertaking (PSU) banks to assist the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in resolving glitches in its post-result services portal.
The move comes as students have been complaining of payment failures and technical issues, which have disrupted their preparation for the ongoing Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026.
CBSE conducted Class 12 board examinations from February 17 to April 10 and announced the results on May 13, which showed the board's overall Class 12 pass percentage fell 3.19 percentage points to 85.20%, under the board's new digital evaluation system called on-screen marking (OSM).
Students alleged OSM cost them foreign university admissions, scholarships and engineering opportunities, while repeated portal failures disrupted their preparation for the ongoing CUET-UG 2026.
Four public sector banks - State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank - will help CBSE "put in place robust payment protocols to ensure timely payments, address payment glitches, and automatic refunds for excess payments".
IIT experts will "implement focused technological improvements
