PM Modi Unveils ₹8,140 Crore Development Projects in Uttarakhand on State's 25th Anniversary

Dehradun: In a significant move marking 25 years of Uttarakhand's formation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for numerous development projects worth over ₹8,140 crore. The projects span various sectors, including drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development. Additionally, PM Modi released ₹62 crore in support to over 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. Key projects inaugurated by the PM include Dehradun's 23-zone AMRUT water supply scheme, electrical substations, solar power plants in government buildings, and a state-of-the-art AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital. The foundation stone was laid for two crucial hydro-sector projects: the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, set to supply 150 MLD of drinking water to Dehradun, and the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital, which will provide drinking water, support irrigation, and generate electricity. Other projects include electrical substations, a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, and a cutting-edge dairy plant in Nainital. The Silver Jubilee event, commemorating 25 years of Uttarakhand's formation, was held at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) today, with grand arrangements in place for the main event, expected to draw over one lakh attendees.
