Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C Joseph Vijay marked the beginning of a 'real secular social justice' era after being sworn in as Tamil Nadu's chief minister, promising transparent governance and a 'white paper' on the state's finances.
Vijay vowed to establish a 'transparent' governance, promising not to meet anyone 'secretly' and operate behind 'closed doors.'
He claimed the previous regime left behind a debt of over ₹10 lakh crore and an 'empty treasury.'
Vijay appealed to the public to give him time to deliver on poll promises and introduce governance reforms, focusing on fundamental issues like education, ration, healthcare, drinking water, and road facilities.
He signed papers allowing 200 units of free electricity to domestic consumers, setting up a special force for women's safety, and establishing anti-drug trafficking units across the state.
Vijay committed to providing a clean administration, ensuring no mistakes would be made by him or his government members.
He clarified that there would be no other power centres apart from him, asserting, 'I will be the only centre of power.'
