Bhopal, India - Tim White, head coach of the Indian junior women's hockey team, has praised the country's growing talent pool in age-group national pathways. White, who took charge of the U-21 national setup six weeks ago, emphasized the importance of connecting youth tiers with the senior national team.

During his scouting visit to the India-Australia U-18 exposure series, White praised U-18 coach Rani for her work with the young unit. He noted the progression and adaptability shown by the 15 and 16-year-old players, who have immense room for physical and tactical maturation.

White, who transitioned into Indian hockey through his assignment as head coach of the Tamil Nadu Dragons men's franchise in the Hockey India League, aims to develop a distinct, modern style of hockey that unlocks the players' maximum potential.

The short-term target is to build a competitive unit by September for the Junior Women's Asia Cup in China. White emphasized the importance of cultivating the right habits, tactical maturity, and playing style to make players senior-ready.
