Kylian Mbappe has come out in support of his former teammate Neymar, stating that he can't imagine the 2026 FIFA World Cup without the Brazilian attacker.
Mbappe has backed Neymar to prove his fitness ahead of the tournament, despite Carlo Ancelotti's decision not to recall him.
Speaking to Globo Esporte, Mbappe said, 'The World Cup is the competition of the stars. All the stars are there, and for me Neymar is one of the greatest. I can't imagine a World Cup without Neymar.'
Neymar has been under pressure due to concerns over his fitness, but Mbappe believes he can make his way into Ancelotti's squad.
'For me, Neymar is a player who makes a difference. I played with him, I learned a lot from him. We have to see how he is, but I know him: he will be ready, he will be there,' Mbappe said.
Neymar has had a storied career with Brazil, debuting at 18 and becoming the country's second-most capped player. He is the nation's all-time top goalscorer with 79 goals and has won numerous titles, including the 2012 Olympics silver medal and the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
