Brendan Sorsby has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA seeking an injunction to play his final season of college football. The 22-year-old quarterback admitted to gambling on games involving his former school during his tenure with the Indiana Hoosiers in 2022.

The NCAA launched an investigation into Sorsby's wagers and found he violated NCAA sports gambling rules, declaring him ineligible for competition. Sorsby's lawsuit accuses the NCAA of hypocrisy, claiming they profit from the gambling ecosystem they police.

According to his attorney, Sorsby placed bets using only publicly available information and never wagered against his own team or teammates. He also stopped betting on Indiana football games after being named the backup quarterback in 2022.

The complaint states that the NCAA is delaying the reinstatement process, which could harm Sorsby's career. A judge in Lubbock will determine whether the arguments presented are enough to grant Sorsby an injunction and allow him to play in 2026.
