Vinesh Phogat's participation in Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) events has been put on hold until the federation receives her reply to the show-cause notice and a committee deliberates and decides on the response.
WFI president Sanjay Singh stated that Phogat is not eligible to compete in any WFI event, including the Asian Games trials on May 30, until the committee makes a decision.
Phogat was barred from participating in the Senior Open National Ranking Tournament in Gonda, which would have been her first event in almost two years.
The WFI issued a 15-page notice to Phogat on Saturday, asking her to respond to various rule violations and indiscipline, including her inability to make the weight at the Paris Olympics and anti-doping infringements.
Phogat has denied any anti-doping rule violation, stating that she has been cleared by the International Testing Agency (ITA).
Sakshi Malik, a fellow protester and 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist, has come out in support of Phogat, requesting the Prime Minister, Sports Minister, and WFI to take Phogat's trial so that she can continue competing and winning medals for the country.
