India's steel ministry has sought assistance from the oil ministry to mitigate the impact of the LPG shortage on the country's steel plants.

The LPG shortage, caused by a war in West Asia, has led to emergency measures in New Delhi to prioritize access to natural gas for essential sectors.

Nearly 300 industries in Jalandhar district rely on commercial gas for high-strength metal production, with a single forging unit requiring 425 kg LPG per day.

Industrial units are seeking priority access to commercial gas, or production will come to a standstill, affecting manufacturing commitments and industrial output.

Experts warn that the LPG situation could impact margins, jobs, future investments, and long-term contracts in India and overseas.
