Delhi Government Allows Hybrid Classes for All Students due to poor quality air in the NCR

The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, has instructed all schools to conduct classes in hybrid mode for students of all classes with immediate effect.

The Commission for Air Quality Management announced relaxations under the Graded Response Action Plan to mitigate educational disruptions caused by poor air quality in the National Capital Region.

The relaxation permits educational institutions to conduct classes in a hybrid mode, allowing students to attend either in person or online. The Supreme Court asked the CAQM to review its decision and ease restrictions on physical classes, noting the adverse impacts of school closures.

The decision primarily affects students in Classes 10 and 12, who require physical attendance for practical lessons, tests, and preparations for board and competitive exams. The choice of online education will rest with students and their families, based on their circumstances and available resources.
