Actress Upasana Singh has come out in support of Shilpa Shinde after the latter faced criticism for admitting to making false sexual harassment allegations against a producer nearly nine years ago.
Upasana, who has worked with Shilpa on three television shows, believes that Shinde's decision to publicly acknowledge and regret her mistake should also be taken into account.
While many in the television industry have criticized Shinde, Upasana feels that the pressures and struggles she may have faced at the time could have influenced her actions.
Upasana also points out that the producers who were allegedly harassed have chosen to work with Shinde again, suggesting that they have forgiven her and moved on.
However, Upasana acknowledges that Shinde's admission could negatively impact genuine cases of harassment and misconduct, and that it is unfortunate that it may raise questions about other cases.
