India's most wanted crime fugitive, Anmol Bishnoi, has been deported from the US and is expected to arrive in Delhi today. The 18-year-old is the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and faces at least 18 criminal cases in India, including the conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. Baba Siddique was shot dead outside his son's office building in Bandra East on October 12, 2024. Anmol, who claimed responsibility for the incident, had been on the run since fleeing India on a forged passport. According to the US Department of Homeland Security, Anmol was removed from American soil on November 18, 2025. His deportation comes after he was detained in the US for using a fake passport. Anmol had been lodged in Pottawattamie County jail in Iowa. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, led by Anmol's brother, is believed to have ties with pro-Khalistan groups, including the Babbar Khalsa International. Anmol is also suspected of ordering a hit on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022. A senior official from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Anmol functioned as Lawrence Bishnoi's principal overseas handler, directing extortion rackets and coordinating assignments through encrypted channels. Anmol's deportation has been a long time coming, with the NIA issuing a lookout circular against him after he claimed responsibility for firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's home in April 2024. With his extradition confirmed, Indian authorities are preparing to take Anmol into custody. He is one of India's 'most wanted' with a reward of Rs10 lakh and is facing at least 18 criminal cases in the country.
