Army Soldier Killed in Ongoing Anti-Terror Operation in Jammu and Kashmir
An Indian Army soldier was killed in action during an ongoing anti-terror operation in the forests of Zaloora Gujjarpati, Sopore area, of North Kashmir's Baramulla district. The operation, which entered its second day today, was launched after security forces noticed suspicious activity in the area.
According to security sources, the soldier was injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists and succumbed to his injuries while being evacuated from the scene. The search operation has been intensified and expanded to track down the hiding terrorists in the forest area.
The joint forces of the Army and J&K Police have tightened the cordon layers at the Zaloora Gujjarpati area of Sopore to prevent the terrorists from escaping. The operation is still underway, with security forces working to neutralize the terrorist threat.
This incident comes amid a surge in anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Just yesterday, the Indian Army informed that nine terrorists had been killed in the last 24 hours in the region.
