Famed Krishna Painter Jasna Salim Faces Police Action Over Social Media Reel Controversy Artist Jasna Salim, celebrated for her captivating Lord Krishna paintings, has landed in trouble with the law. The Guruvayoor temple police in Kerala have registered a case against her, along with a social media page administrator, for allegedly violating rules and creating a social media reel inside the temple's Nadapandal. The incident sparked a complaint from the temple's administrative officer, citing a recent Kerala High Court ruling that prohibits influencers from shooting videos and reels within the temple premises, except during approved religious functions. Salim, a devoted follower of Lord Krishna, has created numerous artworks depicting the deity and even gifted one of her pieces to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Thrissur. This is not Salim's first run-in with the authorities. Earlier this year, she faced police action for filming a video after placing a garland on a Lord Krishna idol. The incident was deemed a breach of the Kerala High Court order, which bans video recording within temple grounds, except during religious rituals or weddings. The case against Salim has been filed under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Section 192, which deals with provocation intended to incite a riot. Salim has previously faced online backlash for attempting to film a cake-cutting ceremony near the temple for social media, leading to widespread criticism and trolling. The Guruvayoor shrine's efforts to uphold its rules and regulations have sparked a debate about social media etiquette and respect for sacred spaces. As the investigation continues, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to temple protocols and respecting the sanctity of these revered sites.
