Arunachal Pradesh Governor Urges Police to Embody Discipline, Compassion, and Excellence

In a keynote address at the 53rd Raising Day ceremony of the Arunachal Pradesh Police, Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and a humane approach in policing. The event, held at the Police Training Centre in Banderdewa, saw the governor lauding the force for its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state. The governor called upon police personnel to uphold their motto 'Satya, Seva, Suraksha' (Truth, Service, Protection) with integrity, humility, and a strong sense of duty. He highlighted that a professional and disciplined police force is crucial for building public trust and a healthy democracy. Parnaik also underscored the need for police personnel to stay updated with the latest legal framework, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. These laws aim to make the criminal justice system more responsive and humane. The governor also emphasized the importance of technology-driven operations and regular training for police personnel. He drew from his experience as an Army Commander to stress the need for strong welfare measures for police personnel and their families, ensuring that they are well-equipped to serve their duties. The ceremony featured a range of activities, including a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyrs' Pillar, a parade review, and a demonstration of unarmed combat and dog squad. The governor also presented awards to meritorious officers and personnel and inaugurated an exhibition on the implementation of new criminal laws, a new classroom building, and flagged off mobile forensic vans, interceptor vehicles, and recovery cranes.
