A birthday party in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, turned into a scene of chaos after a group of right-wing activists, allegedly from Bajrang Dal, stormed a cafe, accusing two Muslim youths of 'love jihad'. The group claimed that the Muslim youths were in a relationship with a Hindu woman. The incident occurred on Saturday night when a first-year BSc Nursing student, who is a Hindu, hosted her birthday party at the restaurant in the Prem Nagar area. The party was attended by nine friends, including five women and four men. Bajrang Dal members, who were present outside the cafe, allegedly disrupted the party, raised slogans, and accused the Muslim youths of 'love jihad'. The situation escalated, and police were called to the scene. One of the Muslim youths, Shan, was reportedly taken into custody, while the other, Waqif, managed to escape. However, no action was taken against the right-wing group members who were advised to disperse. The police issued a challan for breach of peace against the cafe staffer, Shailendra Gangwar, and the two Muslim youths, Shan and Waqif. The incident has sparked concerns about the increasing intolerance and vigilantism in the country.
