A viral video has surfaced showing inmates allegedly using mobile phones and watching television inside Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru, sparking outrage and calls for action. The video appears to show Zuhaib Hameed Shakeel Manna, an alleged ISIS recruiter, and Umesh Reddy, a serial rapist and killer, using multiple phones and accessing television. The Karnataka government has launched an investigation into the matter, with Home Minister G Parameshwara vowing to take action against those responsible for the alleged security lapses. The videos have raised serious concerns about preferential treatment and security breaches within the jail. Manna, a Bengaluru resident, was booked by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for his alleged ties to the banned terror outfit ISIS. He is accused of raising funds and sending Muslim youth to join ISIS in Syria. Reddy, a notorious criminal, is accused of 18 cases of rape and murder in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. He was sentenced to death in 2006 for the rape and murder of a 37-year-old woman in Peenya, but his sentence was commuted to 30 years in prison. The videos have sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for a thorough investigation and action against those responsible. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has assured to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
