The Election Commission of India has begun counting votes for the Bihar assembly election, with early trends indicating a closely contested battle between Congress and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAMS) candidates. Kutumba, a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency in Aurangabad district, saw a voter turnout of 69.20% in the second phase of the election on November 11. The constituency is witnessing a keen contest between Lalan Ram of HAMS, Prakash Kumar of Bahujan Samaj Party, and Rima Kumari of Rashtrawadi Janlok Party, with Rajesh Kumar Ram of Congress being a key candidate. This election is a high-stakes contest between the NDA, led by Nitish Kumar, and the RJD-Congress alliance, led by Tejashwi Yadav. Other parties, including Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party and Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas), are also in the fray. The results of all 243 assembly constituencies in the state are expected to be announced today.
