The Bihar Assembly election has concluded with two phases of polling on November 6 and 11, and the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14. As the state waits for the official results, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is confident of a victory, while the Opposition remains skeptical of the exit poll predictions. The NDA, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) (JDU), is projected to win a majority of seats by most exit polls, ranging from 121 to 209. In contrast, the Mahagathbandhan, an alliance of opposition parties, is expected to secure 32 to 118 seats, according to the exit polls. However, Axis My India's projection released on Wednesday suggests a narrow win for the NDA, with a range of 121 to 141 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is expected to win 98 to 118 seats. The exit polls also indicate that Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party (JSP) will have little to no impact on the election, with most pollsters predicting zero to five seats for the party. The voter turnout in Bihar has been impressive, with a historic high of 66.91% recorded, surpassing the previous record since 1951. The first phase of polling saw a turnout of 65.08%, while the second phase recorded 69.20%. The Election Commission of India has announced that the voter turnout is the highest in the state's history. The Opposition, led by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, has rejected the exit polls, stating that the results are not a true reflection of the people's mandate. Yadav pointed out that people had to wait in long queues to cast their votes, even until 6 or 7 pm, indicating a high level of enthusiasm and participation. The Opposition is urging voters to wait for the official results before making any conclusions about the election outcome.
