Bihar is on the cusp of a major electoral shift, with exit polls predicting a decisive victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). According to the latest surveys, the ruling NDA is set to secure a clear majority, while the Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan camp trails behind. The Peoples Pulse survey projects the NDA to win between 133-159 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is expected to secure between 75-101 seats. Multiple exit polls, including those by People's Insight, Matrize, and Dainik Bhaskar, have consistently shown the NDA leading the Mahagathbandhan. The BJP and JD(U) alliance is projected to secure significant seats, with the BJP expected to win between 68-72 seats and JD(U) between 55-60 seats. In contrast, the RJD is set to limit its gains to 65-72 seats, while the Congress may win up to 13 seats. The 2020 Bihar assembly election saw a similar scenario play out, with exit polls predicting a close contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. However, the actual results saw the NDA securing a majority with 125 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan won 110 seats. Historically, exit polls have sometimes failed to accurately predict election outcomes. In 2015, an average of six exit polls predicted a narrow win for the Mahagathbandhan, but the actual results saw the alliance securing a comfortable majority with 178 seats. As the results of the 2025 Bihar assembly election are set to be announced on November 14, the stage is set for a closely watched contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
