Patna, Bihar: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is gearing up to form a new government in Bihar after securing a resounding victory in the recent assembly elections. With the term of the current assembly ending on November 22, NDA leaders have announced that the government formation process will begin within the next 2-3 days. According to sources, the process will kick off once all victorious MLAs, many of whom are still in their respective constituencies, reach Patna. The first step involves Chief Minister Nitish Kumar meeting with Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to submit his resignation and discuss the date for the swearing-in ceremony. BJP, which won 89 out of 101 seats it contested, has convened a meeting of top leaders at the party office. Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said that after the NDA's landslide victory, the party's central leadership will finalize the government formation details within the next two days. "The schedule and details related to government formation will be announced by the BJP's central leadership," Jaiswal said. The party will soon appoint observers who will hold meetings with party MLAs to elect a leader, followed by a joint meeting to choose the NDA leader. Similar meetings will be convened by other NDA constituent parties, including JD(U), LJP, HAM-S, and RLM. Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha met CM Kumar on Saturday and are likely to discuss government formation with senior BJP leaders in New Delhi. Lok Janshakti Party's Union minister Chirag Paswan said his party is looking forward to joining the new government and personally feels that JD(U) president Nitish Kumar should continue as Chief Minister. The NDA is expected to finalize the government formation process soon, with the swearing-in ceremony likely to take place before November 22.
