As the Bihar Legislative Assembly's term is set to expire on November 22, the state is bracing for a new government. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a landslide victory, winning 202 of the 243 seats, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging as the single-largest party with 89 seats and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) winning 85 seats. Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan has assured that the NDA government will be formed before the deadline. Paswan, who met with Nitish Kumar in Patna, stated that discussions are underway among alliance parties to finalize the cabinet berths. He also promised that the blueprint for government formation will be ready by tomorrow. Paswan visited Nitish Kumar's residence, congratulating him on the NDA's victory and praising the CM for appreciating all parties in the alliance. The union minister also criticized the opposition for spreading false narratives about LJP and JD(U) during the elections. Rashtriya Lok Morcha leader Upendra Kushwaha has estimated that the government formation process will take another two to four days. Sources indicate that the NDA will initiate the process after all victorious MLAs, who are still in their constituencies, reach Patna. Before the process begins, Nitish Kumar will meet with Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to submit his resignation and discuss the date for the swearing-in ceremony. The BJP's victory and JD(U)'s strong comeback have made the NDA a formidable force in the state, with the LJP and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) also securing significant seats. As the state waits with bated breath for the new government to take shape, Chirag Paswan's promise of a blueprint by tomorrow has brought some relief, but the clock is ticking, and the NDA must act swiftly to meet the November 22 deadline.
