A heated argument over the Bihar poll results turned deadly when a 22-year-old labourer from Bihar was allegedly killed by his maternal uncles in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. According to police, Shankar Manjhi (22) was staying with his uncles Rajesh Manjhi (25) and Toofani Manjhi (27) at the under-construction police lines in the Cantt police station area. Preliminary investigations revealed that Shankar was a supporter of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), while his uncles backed the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)). The dispute reportedly began with a drunken brawl, which escalated into a violent physical fight. Rajesh and Toofani allegedly dragged Shankar to a nearby muddy area, pinning him down, resulting in his tragic death. The police rushed Shankar to the district hospital, where he was declared dead. Rajesh and Toofani were taken into custody and later confessed to the murder during interrogation. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.
