In a landslide victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the single largest party in the 2025 Bihar assembly election results, propelling the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to a commanding three-fourths majority. The NDA secured 202 seats in the 243-member House, its second instance of crossing the 200-seat mark after 2010. Within the NDA, the BJP won a significant 89 seats, while its ally Janata Dal (United) secured 85 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, won 19 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) bagged five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four seats. Notable winners include debutant Maithili Thakur, who won from Alinagar, and Samrat Choudhary, who secured the Tarapur seat. In the opposition Mahagathbandhan bloc, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) managed 25 seats, while CPI(ML)(Liberation) won two, Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) one, and CPI(M) secured one seat. Other notable winners include AIMIM, which secured five seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which won one seat. The BJP-led NDA's sweeping victory marks a significant shift in Bihar's political landscape.
