BJP, JD(U) Sweep Bihar Polls: NDA Retains Power with Landslide Victory

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has delivered a crushing blow to its opponents in Bihar, securing a landslide victory in the state assembly polls. With a total of 202 seats, the NDA has exceeded expectations and retained power in the state. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party in Bihar, winning 89 seats, followed closely by Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) with 85 seats. However, the Mahagathbandhan, an alliance of opposition parties including RJD and Congress, suffered a crushing defeat, securing only 34 seats. Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party failed to open its account despite an extensive campaign. The RJD won 25 seats, while Congress managed six. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) won two and one seat, respectively. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attributed the win to his new MY formula, which stands for Mahila (women) and Youth. He said the people of Bihar have "voted for a developed and prosperous state by breaking all records.
