A Congress MP has sparked a major row with his comments on the Delhi blast case, drawing the ire of the BJP. Hussain Dalwai demanded a probe into the RSS, the BJP's parent outfit, and linked the explosion to alleged 'injustice in Kashmir'. Several BJP leaders have condemned his remarks, accusing the Congress of standing with terrorism for vote bank and appeasement. Dalwai's comments came after he questioned the timing of the blast near Red Fort, saying 'why do bomb blasts happen repeatedly during elections? This needs investigation.' He alleged that the RSS has some factions that might 'support terrorism', adding that injustice happens to people because of this. He also mentioned the cultural practices of the RSS and said that those believing in violence should be investigated. The Congress leader further criticized the government's approach to Kashmir, saying that the 'injustice happening in Kashmir will have consequences.' He praised party colleague Chidambaram's theory that the blast was an 'internal issue involving internal terrorism' and demanded an investigation into it. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla launched a scathing attack on Dalwai, labelling him a 'spin doctor for terror.' He said that Dalwai's comments were a standard operating procedure of the Congress, who try to draw parallels where none exist and justify terrorism for vote bank and appeasement. Other BJP leaders, including Amit Malviya and Pradeep Bhandari, also condemned Dalwai's remarks, accusing the Congress of standing with terrorism and justifying the Red Fort blast. The BJP has termed the Congress's agenda as 'terror cover fire' first and the nation last.
