A breakthrough in the investigation into Monday's blast near Delhi's Red Fort has led to the discovery of a red Ford EcoSport car with suspected traces of ammonium nitrate. The vehicle, registered in Delhi, was found parked near the residence of autorickshaw driver Farrukh Khan in Haryana's Faridabad district. The car, linked to prime suspect Dr Umar Un-Nabi, is believed to have been used for reconnaissance and transporting explosive materials before the blast. A preliminary inspection by the National Security Guard's bomb disposal team found possible ammonium nitrate traces, which have been sent for laboratory testing. The car was seized and handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a detailed forensic examination. Farrukh Khan, who was detained for questioning, claims to have no connection to Dr Umar or any terror activity. Neighbors described Khan as a simple man struggling to make ends meet, making it difficult to believe his alleged involvement. The recovery of the car is seen as a critical breakthrough in tracking the movements of the accused and uncovering the wider network operating across Haryana, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir. The blast, which occurred on Monday, followed the recovery of nearly 2,900 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, detonators, timers, and assault rifles.
