Congress Unleashes Fresh Fury Against BJP's SIR Tactics: Rally and Legal Action Loom

The Congress party is stepping up its fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) alleged 'vote chori' (theft) tactics, with party leaders planning a massive rally in December to expose the Election Commission's (EC) 'politicisation'. According to party officials, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with party leaders from 12 states where a special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is underway. They vowed to take the issue to the people and vowed to fight 'politically, legally, and organisationally' against the BJP's alleged attempts to manipulate the electoral process. The Congress party claims that the BJP-led government is using the SIR process to target opposition voters and delete their names from the electoral rolls. They point to the example of Bihar, where the Congress party's worst-ever performance in 15 years was attributed to vote theft. Congress leaders also accused the Election Commission of working in a biased manner and failing to ensure a genuine voter list. They demanded that the EC immediately demonstrate its impartiality and adhere to its constitutional oath. To take the fight to the streets, the Congress party plans to hold a massive rally in Ramlila Maidan in the first week of December. The rally will expose the EC's politicisation and highlight the alleged irregularities in the SIR process. The BJP, however, has dismissed the Congress party's claims as an attempt to mislead the people and avoid taking responsibility for their humiliating defeat in Bihar. The party has accused the Congress of being completely rejected by the people and trying to rake up false issues. The battle between the two parties is set to intensify, with the Congress party vowing to expose every attempt to delete genuine voters or insert bogus ones. The party has promised to remain vigilant and fight for the integrity of the electoral rolls.
