A bomb blast near Delhi's Red Fort has sparked a heated debate over security lapses. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called for a thorough investigation, expressing concerns that the timing of the explosion coincided with the ongoing Bihar elections. He demanded answers on why such incidents occur during polls. Siddaramaiah offered condolences to the victims and their families, emphasizing the need for an investigation to uncover the truth and identify any security breaches. State ministers Priyank Kharge and MB Patil have strongly criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, holding him responsible for the security lapse. Kharge labeled Shah as the 'most incompetent home minister in independent India,' demanding his resignation. He pointed to repeated security failures under Shah's tenure, including the Pulwama attack and the crisis in Manipur. Patil described the Delhi explosion as a 'heinous act,' calling for Shah's resignation. He emphasized the need for accountability, citing the Rameshwaram Café blast as an example. Patil also highlighted the proximity of the blast to a high-security zone, underscoring the failure of security measures. Following the blast, authorities declared a high alert in several cities, including Bengaluru. BJP leaders have expressed sorrow over the incident, with some suggesting possible links between Pakistan-based terror groups and the Delhi explosion. Leader of Opposition R Ashoka demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into possible connections between inmates in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Jail and the perpetrators. He accused the Congress government of a minority appeasement policy, which he claimed allowed high-tech terrorists to operate from within the jail.
