A key accused in the Red Fort car bomb blast that killed 13 people has been sent to 10 days' National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody. Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of South Kashmir's Pampore, was arrested for allegedly conspiring with Dr. Umar Nabi, the 'suicide bomber', to carry out the terror attack. The NIA believes Ali was the last person to have been in contact with Nabi, who drove the explosive-laden car that detonated outside the Red Fort on November 10. The NIA investigation revealed that the vehicle used in the blast was registered in Ali's name, and he had travelled to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car. The agency will now interrogate Ali to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and his role in the fatal terror plot. This comes after the NIA announced Ali's arrest on Sunday, a day after the agency busted a 'white-collar' terror module that had links with Dr. Nabi. The intricate interstate terror network was exposed after a series of arrests in Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. So far, nine people have been arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in connection with this case. The NIA's remand of Ali is a significant development in the investigation, and it is expected to shed more light on the conspiracy behind the Red Fort blast.
