A 21-year-old young entrepreneur from Shamli's Uttar Pradesh district, Noman, lost his life in a tragic car blast near Delhi's historic Red Fort on Monday evening. His cousin, Amaan, was seriously injured in the incident. Noman and Amaan had traveled to Delhi to procure wholesale cosmetic items for their small business, following their father's advice. They were driven to the city by Virassat, a driver from Jhijhana, and had completed most of their shopping by evening. However, Noman decided to return to Chandni Chowk to purchase a few more items, while Amaan and Virassat headed back to their car. A powerful explosion occurred near the Red Fort shortly after, claiming Noman's life and injuring Amaan. Virassat recalled the chaotic scene that unfolded, with people panicking and police barricades being set up. He expressed regret over not being able to prevent the tragedy, stating that he would not have been alive today if he had gone with the cousins. Noman's family remembered him as a bright, hardworking, and affectionate young man who was the sole bread earner for his family. Relatives have demanded adequate compensation from the state and central leadership, and the body is expected to be brought back to Shamli for last rites. In the aftermath of the blast, security arrangements have been strengthened across central and north Delhi, particularly in the Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, and Daryaganj areas. The Delhi Police has yet to receive an update on the incident, and the family is being supported by authorities in Delhi.
