Delhi Police has cracked down on two cyber fraudsters who cheated victims out of over ₹50 lakh through online investment scams. Sunil Kumar Reddy, a 44-year-old MBA graduate from Andhra Pradesh, and Ayush Semwal, a 21-year-old B.Com student from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested in separate cases. Reddy, a business development executive, allegedly posed as an investment adviser and induced a complainant to transfer ₹23.8 lakh through 15 transactions into multiple bank accounts. However, police swiftly froze all identified accounts and refunded ₹5 lakh to the victim. After a prolonged investigation, Reddy was tracked down and arrested in Anantapur. In the second case, Semwal, a call centre employee, was involved in moving cheated funds through 'mule accounts'. He allegedly confessed to selling several bank accounts to an associate in exchange for commissions. Semwal was arrested from his workplace in Noida on November 8. Further investigation is underway. The duo used camouflaged investment platforms, fake incentive schemes, and counterfeit crypto-trading interfaces to lure victims. At least 18 bank accounts were used to route and disguise the proceeds of the crime, which were subsequently frozen by the police.
