Gurugram, Haryana, has been put on high alert as the city prepares for New Year and Republic Day celebrations. In a move to ensure public safety, the Gurugram Police have issued a set of guidelines under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has directed various establishments, including cyber cafes, PG owners, guest houses, dharamshalas, hotels, offices, and house owners, to maintain a detailed record of visitors, tenants, workers, and guests. This includes keeping a photocopy of their ID proof and ensuring that a proper police verification has been conducted. Additionally, the use of drones, micro light aircraft, gliders, power gliders, hot air balloons, kites, and Chinese micro lights has been prohibited in Gurugram from November 11, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The move comes in the wake of a recent explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in New Delhi, which has left several people injured. The incident has led to a high alert in Uttar Pradesh, with police conducting checking drives and erecting barricades at key locations. As part of a security verification drive, the Gurugram Police have also directed housing societies, house owners, and paying guests accommodations to submit details of residents from Jammu and Kashmir and foreign nationals staying with them. The authorities will take strict action against those who violate these guidelines, as per Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. The Gurugram Police are working tirelessly to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents and visitors during the upcoming celebrations.
