A fatal accident occurred on the Gwalior-Jhansi highway in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Sunday morning, claiming the lives of five young men. The incident took place around 6 am near Malwa College, approximately 20 km from the district headquarters. According to preliminary investigations, a white SUV carrying five friends from Dabra was involved in a collision with a sand-laden tractor from behind. Gwalior city police chief Hina Khan confirmed that the victims were on a trip together and were from the Dabra side of the highway. "The information was received at the control room between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.," she said, adding that the police immediately rushed to the scene. Khan stated that the tractor driver was not present at the time of the incident but his contact number has been obtained, and action is being taken against him. The bodies of the victims have been taken to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination. Initial investigations suggest that some of the deceased belong to the Rajawat family in Adityapuram. The identities of the others are still being verified. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine if there was any negligence or if the tractor had entered the road from the wrong direction.
