A senior IAS officer, Bharti Dixit, has filed a disturbing FIR against her husband, Ashish Modi, alleging years of domestic abuse, physical assault, and emotional manipulation. Dixit, a joint secretary in the finance department, claims that Modi, a director in the social justice and empowerment department, exploited her vulnerability while her father was undergoing cancer treatment. According to the FIR, filed at the SMS Hospital police station in Jaipur on November 7, Modi's behavior worsened after their daughter's birth in 2018. Dixit recounts being subjected to physical and mental harassment, forced to confront her husband's criminal connections, and even abducted by Modi and his associates in a government vehicle. The alleged abuse escalated to the point where Dixit was held at gunpoint and forced to deceive her father during a phone call. She also claims that Modi installed a hidden spy camera in her room and accessed confidential government documents through her phone. Dixit has named two associates, Surendra Vishnoi and Ashish Sharma, for allegedly helping Modi with the threats and confinement. She has requested immediate police protection for herself and her family. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology (IT) Act. This shocking case has raised concerns about the alleged misuse of power by a serving IAS officer and the need for swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim and her family.
