IndiGo, India's leading low-cost carrier, is working to restore its systems and stabilize operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport after a technical glitch in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS). The airline expects normal operations to resume within a few hours, with possible adjustments to departure and arrival times. Multiple airlines, including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet, were affected by the issue, causing widespread flight delays in the northern region. In a statement, IndiGo assured passengers that their teams are on the ground to assist with updated schedules, onward connections, and real-time information to minimize wait times. The Delhi airport has reported that the AMSS system is gradually improving, and airline operations are returning to normal. The airport issued a passenger advisory, stating that flight operations are expected to stabilize, but delays and congestion may persist for some time. IndiGo expressed appreciation for the efforts of the airport and ATC authorities in resolving the issue and credited them for getting the systems back online. The airline has advised passengers to check their flight status regularly and allow extra time for travel to the airport. The AMSS glitch led to delays across at least 100 flights, with the airline operations severely affected due to the malfunction in the Air Traffic Control system. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) service manages and guides the movement of aircraft on the ground and within controlled airspace. The situation is expected to normalize over the next few hours, and IndiGo is working to minimize the impact on passengers. The airline has thanked passengers for their patience and understanding, promising to support them throughout the process.
