New Delhi: As India gears up for its maiden human spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan, engineers at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) are drawing valuable lessons from the experiences of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who recently returned from the Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station. Shukla, a former IAF pilot and the first Indian to travel to the ISS, has shared his insights with ISRO engineers to help refine the Gaganyaan mission, scheduled for launch in 2027. The team has identified key differences between Gaganyaan and other human spaceflight missions, pinpointing areas that require improvement. "These missions are incredibly complex, and we must ensure we get everything right," Shukla explained at the India International Space Conclave. "ISRO engineers are thoroughly reviewing all systems, making revisions, and checking our philosophy to guarantee a seamless experience.
