The Jammu and Kashmir police are taking steps to have a doctor, Dr. Muzaffar, who is believed to be linked to a white-collar terror module, extradited from a foreign country. The move follows the recent busting of the module, which was uncovered while investigating Jaish posters in Srinagar. According to officials, Dr. Muzaffar, who is the brother of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, one of the arrested doctors, traveled to Turkey with two other doctors in 2021. The group stayed in the country for 21 days. The police are now trying to locate Dr. Muzaffar, who left India in August. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of J&K police is probing the case, which is linked to the Red Fort blast. Three doctors are currently in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing. In a statement, Turkey's Directorate of Communications Centre for Countering Disinformation denied reports that its territory was being used for radicalization. The center described the claims as a 'malicious disinformation campaign' aimed at damaging bilateral relations. The J&K police can't directly obtain an Interpol Red Corner notice, but they can initiate a process, and a central agency can issue the notice. The case is still under investigation, and the police are working to gather more information about Dr. Muzaffar's current location.
