A devastating blast inside Srinagar's Nowgam police station in Jammu and Kashmir left at least nine people dead and several injured on Friday. The explosion occurred while police officers and forensic experts were inspecting the premises, where they were analyzing evidence from a massive cache of explosives seized in Haryana's Faridabad. According to sources, the officials were extracting samples from the seized explosives, which weighed over 2,900 kilograms and included bomb-making materials. The blast damaged several vehicles in the compound, prompting a swift response from multiple fire tenders. The incident is linked to a recent crackdown on a 'white-collar' terror module in Kashmir. In the past two weeks, authorities have detained 15 people for questioning in connection with the case. Key suspects include Dr. Muzammil Shakil, a 35-year-old physician from Pulwama, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in radical activities. Investigations suggest that the terror module was run by a core trio of doctors, including Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, Umar Nabi, and Muzzaffar Rather, who is still at large. The authorities believe that the blast was an accident, but the incident highlights the ongoing challenges in combating terrorism in the region.
