A devastating explosion at the Nowgam police station in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night has left at least nine people dead and several others injured. The accidental blast occurred while officials were examining explosive samples seized from a terror module busted in Faridabad. The explosion, which happened around 11:20 pm, damaged parts of the police station and surrounding areas. Local residents, who were shaken by the blast, recounted the horror of what they witnessed. 'We heard a loud blast, and it was only when we saw people crying and rushing out that we realized something terrible had happened,' said Tariq Ahmed, a local resident. The explosion occurred while officials were handling explosive samples recovered from a terror module in Faridabad. The module, which included radicalized 'white collar' doctors associated with Al-Falah University, had been busted earlier. The doctors are also linked to a recent explosion near Delhi's Red Fort. The explosive samples were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination, but the handling process went awry, resulting in the tragic accident. The blast has sent shockwaves through the community, with local residents struggling to come to terms with the loss of life. 'I have never heard such a loud blast in my life,' said Shafad Ahmed, a local resident. 'My relatives reside near the police station, and I have not been able to speak with them since the explosion.'
