Jan Suraaj Party's underwhelming performance in the Bihar assembly polls has left the party's spokesperson, Pavan Verma, grappling with the reasons behind their dismal showing. With the ruling NDA alliance emerging victorious, Verma attributed the loss to the people's reluctance to see a return of 'Jungle Raj,' a term coined to describe the alleged misrule of Lalu Prasad's RJD and Tejashwi Yadav. Verma emphasized that Jan Suraaj's message of change resonated with voters, but the party's inexperience and lack of access to government resources hindered their efforts. He pointed out that the ruling parties enjoy a significant advantage, as they have control over the treasury and can implement direct benefit transfer schemes to sway voters. The party spokesperson also highlighted the role of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who Verma believes has earned the trust of the people, particularly women. Verma described Kumar as the 'X' factor in the election, saying that his integrity, personality, and lack of dynasty politics made him a strong contender. Verma acknowledged that the party's decision to contest the polls without a strong grassroots presence and adequate resources ultimately worked against them. The JSP spokesperson expressed hope that the party's participation in the election would create a third option for voters, paving the way for future electoral success.
