Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has outlined a comprehensive development plan for the state, targeting a more sustainable and eco-friendly growth model by 2050. The roadmap aims to harness the state's natural resources, which are abundant due to the conservation efforts of the tribal communities, the original inhabitants of the region. Soren made the announcement on November 15, the 25th Statehood Day of Jharkhand, which coincides with the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda. The CM emphasized the importance of preserving the state's natural resources and the role of tribal icons, including his father, Shibu Soren, who passed away earlier this year. The chief minister identified key sectors such as health, technology, sports, and tourism as priorities for the government, aiming to transform Jharkhand's image beyond its mining industry reputation. He also called for a reciprocal gesture from the nation, citing the state's significant contributions to India's coal supplies. In his speech, Soren paid tribute to his father and Shibu Soren, a former CM, highlighting their contributions to the state's development and the struggles of the tribal community. He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹8,799 crore, and launched a special exhibition showcasing Shibu Soren's life journey. The development blueprint is expected to serve as a roadmap for Jharkhand's growth over the next 25 years, and the government has already initiated measures to achieve this vision. The announcement is seen as a significant step towards a more sustainable and inclusive development model for the state.
