Famous Krishna painter Jasna Salim has landed in trouble with the law for allegedly filming a social media reel inside the revered Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala. According to police, a case was registered against Salim and a social media influencer on Friday, after they were accused of violating temple rules. As per a Kerala High Court ruling, shooting videos and reels is prohibited in the temple's Nadapandal (temple foyer), particularly for influencers who often follow celebrities. The temple's administrative officer had filed a complaint, leading to the police action. Jasna Salim, a devoted follower of Lord Krishna, has created numerous paintings of the deity and even gifted one to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not her first run-in with the law; she had previously faced police action for filming a video at the temple after placing a garland on a Lord Krishna idol. The incident raises concerns about the violation of a Kerala High Court order that bans video recording within temple grounds, except during religious rituals or weddings. Salim has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the investigation is ongoing. This incident has sparked controversy, with Salim previously facing backlash for cutting a cake near the temple and attempting to film it for social media. The case highlights the importance of respecting temple rules and the need for influencers to be mindful of their actions.
